FORT WORTH, Texas — A multi-alarm fire broke out at an H-E-B grocery store in Fort Worth on Thursday afternoon, prompting a significant emergency response from firefighters. Officials confirmed the blaze has since been contained, and no injuries were reported.
The fire occurred at the H-E-B store located at 3451 Heritage Trace Parkway, the first H-E-B location to open in Fort Worth. Fire crews responded quickly after receiving reports of the incident and worked to bring the blaze under control.
According to H-E-B, the fire originated from an isolated electrical fire in a meat case inside the store. The company said the incident was contained without any injuries to customers or employees.
“The store experienced an isolated electrical fire in a meat case. It has been contained. There were no injuries. The store is currently closed, and we are assessing the situation to see when we can reopen,” H-E-B said in a statement.
The Fort Worth Fire Department confirmed at approximately 8:30 p.m. that the fire had been successfully contained. Authorities have not yet released additional details regarding the extent of the damage or what specifically caused the electrical malfunction.
As a precaution, the store remains closed while officials assess the building and determine when it is safe to resume normal operations. H-E-B has not provided an estimated reopening date.
The incident prompted a large emergency response and temporarily drew attention from nearby residents and motorists. Firefighters praised the swift actions taken to contain the blaze before it could spread further.
